ExamEye is a Chrome extension developed by the Department of Infocommunication at Corvinus University of Budapest. It was built for ChatGPT research, with the specific goal of analyzing how browsers are used while tests are being written.
During examination periods, ExamEye carefully measures user activity and captures key metrics such as focus intervals, active intervals, and the URLs of pages that are opened. It also records Google searches along with ChatGPT context content.
By bringing all of this data together, ExamEye gives researchers a clear picture of real browsing patterns during exams, making it easier to study how tools like ChatGPT are actually used in testing situations.
