Maken Similarity Service Browser Extension

Maken Similarity Service Browser Extension brings the Maken similarity service directly into the National Library of Norway's website (nb.no), enriching the site's existing search functionality with AI-powered recommendations developed by the library's own AI Lab.

Once installed, the extension adds a "Lignende gjenstander" ("Similar items") button to every result in the books and images categories. Clicking the button opens a section at the bottom of the screen that displays similar items, complete with links to related materials you can inspect further.

Instead of running a new search from scratch, you can follow connections between books and images right where you are already browsing. It is a new discovery tool built into the main library website, making it easier to stumble upon materials you might otherwise have missed.
