Pi Coding Agent

Pi Coding Agent is a minimal, highly customizable terminal-based coding harness and agent designed to adapt seamlessly to the workflows you already have. Out of the box, Pi ships with powerful default features, but it deliberately avoids heavy, pre-baked abstractions such as sub-agents, permission gates, background bash execution, or built-in plan modes. You can build or install commands, tools, providers, or custom UI tweaks on the fly, so the agent grows with you rather than boxing you in.

Extending Pi is straightforward: developers can write TypeScript-based packages and share them via npm or git, making it easy to reuse and distribute capabilities across teams and projects.
