China launches AI service provider cultivation program, targeting over 3,000 by 2027
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched a special program to nurture AI application service providers. The goal is to build a pool of service providers and strengthen their abilities in tech innovation, integration, and security compliance. This supports the growth of AI application services.
By the end of 2026, the pool should have over 2,000 providers, and by the end of 2027, at least 3,000. Key tasks include creating provider profiles, forming "AI application service teams," promoting large-scale use of solutions, and boosting support in computing power and talent.
Local authorities must submit their provider pool info to the ministry by December 1, 2026, and update it regularly. The program also encourages partnerships with universities and vocational schools to train skilled workers, and supports regions in building overseas service systems to help good projects go global.
