China's AI computing power reaches 245 PFLOPS, with over 3,400 agent patents
At the 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo, the National Data Administration reported that as of the end of July 2026, China's total AI computing power reached 2.45 million PFLOPS (quadrillion floating-point operations per second). The eight national computing hubs and three computing-energy coordination zones account for over 85% of the country's installed AI computing capacity. Among this, 1.45 million PFLOPS of smart computing power is now under national monitoring and scheduling, improving resource efficiency and coordinated management.
Going forward, the administration will optimize computing layouts, strengthen monitoring, and deepen computing-energy coordination to boost high-quality development. Additionally, Hu Jianbo, head of the National Data Development Research Institute, noted that China granted over 3,400 agent-related patents in 2025, double the growth rate of the previous year, signaling accelerated innovation in agent applications.
