China's AI tools to ban question-solving features during college entrance exams
As the college entrance exam approaches, concerns have arisen about AI tools being restricted during the test period. Several AI tool makers have confirmed they will limit features like photo-based question solving to ensure fairness.
ByteDance's Doubao said it will work normally but ban its photo-based Q&A feature. Tencent's Yuanbao noted it stopped answering exam questions last year. Baidu's Wenxin said it hasn't received any notice yet.
iFlytek said there's no official word, but expects all major AI models to impose restrictions. Last year, several popular Chinese AI tools, including Tongyi Qianwen, Doubao, Kimi, and Yuanbao, suspended image recognition and Q&A services during the exam period.
