Jensen Huang Rejects AI Doom Predictions: 2030 Won't Be the End
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on CBS's Sunday Morning that 2030 won't be the end of the world, pushing back against calls to slow down AI development. His comments came after a wave of fear swept the AI industry over an article by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei calling for coordinated controls on frontier AI models. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk both endorsed the article's views.
Huang previously said at a Salesforce event that the AI industry doesn't need new laws or regulations for AI safety, arguing safety and speed can coexist and the conflict between them is a false choice. At the All-In Summit, he also noted that no one in China talks about AI doomsday, and China's narrative is more realistic, with no discussion of catastrophe or the end of the world.
