Microsoft Is Shutting Down Copilot on TVs, LG Users Get Termination Notices

LG smart TVs automatically installed Microsoft's Copilot AI app after a webOS update, with no option to uninstall it, which upset many users. LG explained the icon wasn't a native app, just a browser shortcut that opened Microsoft's AI service page. According to tech media Windows Central, some LG smart TV users have now received termination notices. Microsoft will stop offering Copilot on all TVs, including LG models, and the feature will no longer be available. The notice didn't mention an exact end date. If the partnership runs on a yearly deal, the TV version of Copilot may go offline around December 2026.
