Tencent's Hunyuan Hy4 preview sees queues on day one, company expands capacity

Tencent's Hunyuan Hy4 preview launched on WorkBuddy on August 28, 2026, and saw long queues on day one due to its improved Agent capabilities. The company quickly expanded its computing capacity but says some wait times may still occur during peak hours.

To help users, Tencent suggests switching to the Hy3 model, which is now free on WorkBuddy until September 30. The Hy4 preview itself is free until September 10, but daily usage is limited, with reset times shown on the page.

The Hy4 preview is a large language model with 770B total parameters, 49B active parameters, and a 1M context length. It doesn't support image or video generation yet, so those tasks automatically switch to other models and use regular credits. Tencent says this model brings major improvements in size, context, and data scale, keeping it at the top of the open-source model lineup.
