XPeng sets timeline for humanoid robot mass production: 2026, then store guide in 2027
XPeng held a robot mass production meeting recently, marking the final sprint for its humanoid robot business. CEO He Xiaopeng shared key milestones: mass production by end of 2026, and putting the robots in XPeng stores as guides by early 2027.
He said XPeng develops everything in-house, from chips to operating system to joints and hands, making it the only company in China with full-stack self-developed robots. He compared this moment to "XPeng 8 years ago," when the company had just launched and delivered its first car, the G3.
XPeng's new IRON humanoid robot, called "the most human-like robot," was first shown in November 2025. In February this year, XPeng signed a deal with Guangzhou's Tianhe district to build a full-chain mass production base for humanoid robots, starting with high-standard factory buildings and support facilities.
