BrowserBash is an open-source command-line interface (CLI) tool that brings AI-driven browser automation to anyone who can describe a task in plain English. Instead of wrestling with manual selectors, writing code, or maintaining flaky locators that break with every UI change, you simply state what you want the browser to do, and BrowserBash takes care of the rest.
The tool works across a wide range of execution environments, including your local Chrome browser as well as cloud platforms like Browserbase, LambdaTest, and BrowserStack. When it comes to the AI layer, you are free to choose between local models running through Ollama or cloud models accessed via OpenRouter—meaning you do not strictly need an API key or a credit card to get started.
BrowserBash is built with automation pipelines in mind. It integrates smoothly into CI/CD workflows and offers practical features such as NDJSON output for structured results, session recording for review and debugging, and the ability to run automated tests written as simple Markdown files.
