ego (lite) is a free Chromium-based agent browser that lets external AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI carry out logged-in web automation tasks inside isolated Spaces. Instead of wrestling with logins every time, agents plug straight into the browser session you already trust.
It shares your real Chrome browser state, including cookies, sessions, bookmarks, passwords, extensions, and profiles, so agents can work without repeated authentication. That means no more copying passwords into scripts or re-signing in across tools, while your credentials stay in your own browser profile.
Users can continue browsing normally while agents handle tasks in parallel, so automation no longer hijacks your screen or interrupts your day. You stay in control and keep working, while repetitive web chores run quietly alongside you.
The browser supports semantic page snapshots, JavaScript-based multi-action workflows, cross-origin iframes, shadow DOM, and third-party widgets, helping agents see and act on complex pages that break simpler automation tools.
It is designed for social media, shopping, bookings, SaaS back offices, internal tools, research, and other authenticated web workflows, making it a practical companion for everyday logged-in tasks.
