OpenMAIC

OpenMAIC is an open-source AI platform built by the THU-MAIC team at Tsinghua University, created to rethink how online education works. Instead of sitting through passive video lectures, learners step into active, personalized, and social classrooms driven entirely by AI.

At its core, OpenMAIC uses Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration and multi-agent collaboration powered by LangGraph to generate complete interactive lessons from any topic or document you provide. Whether you are exploring a new subject or turning your own materials into a course, the platform handles the heavy lifting of lesson creation.

The experience feels like a real classroom: AI teachers deliver lectures while AI assistants and classmates join in real-time discussions, debates, and questions, making learning feel lively and social rather than isolated.

A two-stage generation pipeline produces rich multimedia content, including slides, quizzes, interactive HTML simulations, and project-based learning activities, so every lesson comes with the hands-on materials needed to truly understand and apply what you learn.
