OpenTypeless is an open-source desktop dictation and AI writing assistant. Press a global hotkey, speak naturally, and your words become clean text inserted straight into email, chat, documents, code editors, and other apps — no more retyping or endless editing.

Beyond basic speech-to-text, OpenTypeless can polish dictated text so it reads the way you meant it, adapt the writing style to match the app you are working in, translate or rewrite any selected text, and answer one-shot voice questions on the spot.

You stay in control of how it runs. Choose optional managed cloud access, or bring your own speech-to-text and language-model providers, including Whisper-compatible endpoints and OpenAI-compatible models. BYOK credentials are stored locally, using the operating system credential vault where available, and requests go directly to the provider you configure.
