In the early days of GPT-3, Pliny was a refreshingly simple answer to a common question: how do I share this cool prompt with friends? Pliny was a platform that provided a lightweight interface to turn prompts into shareable apps, so users could create, share, and remix GPT-3 based apps without setting up any infrastructure.
It was a playground for anyone curious about what they could build on top of a language model, lowering the bar from a custom web app all the way down to an interesting prompt with a nice UI around it.
Pliny has since been shut down so the team can focus on Faraday.dev, an offline-first desktop app for chatting with AI Characters. If you were a Pliny fan, Faraday.dev is where the energy now lives—just in a different, character-focused direction.
