TTS Extension transforms any text you highlight into high-quality, natural sounding audio, powered by Google Cloud's Text-to-Speech. Whether you prefer listening over reading or want to rest your eyes during long reading sessions, it turns written content into clear spoken words in seconds.

The extension supports all Google WaveNet, Neural2, News, and Studio voices, along with their full range of languages, so you can pick the voice and language that feels most comfortable for you. Pitch and speaking speed are both adjustable, letting you fine-tune the playback to match your listening habits.

Please note that you need to create your own API Key in order to use this extension. SSML is supported for finer control over pronunciation and pauses. You can also download the selected text as an MP3 file, making it easy to listen offline or take your audio with you.

To stay efficient, the extension chunks selected text into sentences, which bypasses the 5000 character limit and helps lower usage cost. This means longer selections keep working smoothly without hitting usage barriers.
