Alibaba Cloud launches HappyOyster 1.0 for real-time interactive digital worlds

Alibaba Cloud's Bailian platform has launched HappyOyster 1.0, an open-world model that learns from natural videos to simulate real-world physics. It predicts cause-and-effect chains from actions to reactions, keeping characters and environments consistent.

HappyOyster 1.0 offers two modes: Adventure and Directing. In Adventure mode, users can create and explore a digital world for up to 1 minute with controls like running, jumping, and attacking. Directing mode allows pausing, rewinding, and branching stories, generating over 3 minutes of 480p or 720p real-time video.

The model is now in limited testing on Alibaba Cloud's Bailian, with SDKs for Android, iOS, and Web. Developers can build interactive games, short dramas, and virtual companions. Users can change story directions at any point with simple text commands.
