Alibaba DAMO Academy Launches AI Agent Elements Claw, Predicting 68,000 Superconductors
Alibaba DAMO Academy, together with Renmin University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, launched the first AI agent for discovering superconductors, called Elements Claw. It uses a database of 125 million molecules and crystal structures, with a 1-billion-parameter model that predicts superconductivity with high accuracy. The AI screened 2.4 million crystal structures in just 28 GPU hours, finding 68,000 possible superconductors. The team has already made and tested four new materials, one with a critical temperature of 6.5K. This is the first batch of superconductors found by an AI agent. All data is now free for researchers.
