Alibaba's Qwen Office to launch e-commerce version for merchants

Alibaba's AI office product Qwen Office is developing an e-commerce version for merchants on multiple platforms, set to launch right before the Double 11 presale. The project started in June and entered full development in September, with nearly 100 staff involved.

The e-commerce version is not a standalone app. Users can switch from the general version to the "e-commerce operation" mode inside the product. As Qwen Office's first industry-specific version, it features five sections including a Double 11 zone, business analysis, product management, content creation and marketing.

About 20% of Qwen Office's paying users come from e-commerce, making them the group using AI the most. Taobao and Tmall data connect through Alibaba's internal systems, while platforms like Youzan are being added gradually. Other platforms need merchant login approval.

Alibaba has already linked the Qwen App with Taobao, and upgraded its AI customer service agent to handle complex conversations and close deals.
