Alibaba's Qwen3.8-Max-0902 tops global coding benchmark

Alibaba's Qwen team announced an upgrade to the Qwen3.8-Max model, version 0902, with a focus on coding and professional work. It scored 1691 points on CodeArena's front-end coding leaderboard, a 22-point jump, claiming the top spot. The model excels in multi-step reasoning, tool use, and end-to-end app generation. In terms of cost, it charges only $5 per million tokens (about 33.7 yuan), much cheaper than the second and third-ranked models at $20 and $12. The new version is now live on the Qwen AI platform, with API access, and integrated into Qwen Office, Qoder, and the Qwen App for developers and businesses.
