Alipay launches AI assistant 'Ah Bao' for easier chat-based services

Alipay has officially launched a public beta for its AI assistant 'Ah Bao', available on iOS and Android via app stores or the Alipay app by searching for 'Ah Bao' or 'Ant Ah Bao'. The assistant upgrades Alipay from a traditional list-based interface to a chat-based one, simplifying user tasks.

Users swipe right to see a clean chat box and asset page. By typing or speaking commands, Ah Bao can match relevant mini-programs and services. For example, checking your housing fund just takes one sentence, and the system shows the operation screen for you to confirm. All money-related steps require user approval for security.

Alipay says Ah Bao handles the flow and windows, but the final decision to pay or not is always yours. Common features like QR code scanning and money transfers also have quick access to boost daily use.
