Amazon AWS CEO: AI Won't Replace Programmers, to Hire 11k Software Interns This Year

Amazon AWS CEO Matt Garman recently stated that AI won't make programmers lose their jobs, and the company will hire 11,000 software development engineer interns this year. Although AI tools are changing developers' workflows, Amazon's demand for software developers is still growing, even accelerating.

Garman believes that in the next few years, the ability to write Java code proficiently may be less important. He emphasized that software engineers should learn skills like building applications and solving customer problems, while also not losing technical knowledge as it will still be used when collaborating with cloud service clients.
