Amazon upgrades Alexa+ AI assistant with multimodal interaction and third-party service integration
Amazon has upgraded its Alexa+ AI assistant, transforming it from a simple voice assistant into a full-fledged AI life assistant with multimodal capabilities like visual recognition and generative AI creation. Alexa+ supports natural conversations, remembers information, and executes tasks, helping users manage schedules, summarize emails, generate podcasts, and control smart homes.
Alexa+ now integrates with third-party services like Uber, OpenTable, and Grubhub, allowing users to call rides, book restaurants, and order food delivery via voice. It also partners with over 200 news outlets including AP and Reuters to deliver real-time personalized news summaries.
Alexa+ remembers user preferences and syncs conversation context across Echo speakers, mobile apps, in-car devices, and web browsers. It integrates shopping, music, and FireTV services for personalized recommendations and AI-assisted shopping.
