Ant Ling Open-Sources Ming-Image-0.1-Design Series Models

Ant Ling has officially open-sourced the Ming-Image-0.1-Design series, which includes two models with 6B parameters each. Ming-Image-0.1-Design generates UI, infographics, posters, and complete visual designs from text prompts. Ming-Image-0.1-Design-Layer breaks creative or design images into independently editable transparent layers. Design Skill and PPT Skill are also open-sourced, connecting model capabilities to front-end pages and editable presentations.

The model enhances four key abilities: support for 8K long structured prompt enhancement; improved text rendering and layout stability; end-to-end one-pass complete design generation; and a native RGBA VAE for directly generating transparent background assets.

In the UI/UX Design evaluation updated by Artificial Analysis on September 18, 2026, Ming-Image-0.1-Design ranked first among open-source models with an Elo score of 1082, achieving a 67.4% layout win rate. The team notes limitations with complex hand movements and fine shadow effects. A two-week free API trial is available on OpenRouter.
