Anthropic adds cross-session messaging to Claude Code
Anthropic announced on August 8 that its coding tool Claude Code now supports messaging between sessions starting from version v2.1.224. This lets different sessions send updates and relevant info to each other, making it easier to coordinate parts of a project across multiple sessions.
According to the official description, Claude can pass messages from one session to another. For example, if changes in one session break something another session is building, Claude can warn you before you notice. And if one session solves a problem another session faced, it can send the answer over.
Anthropic says the best uses include handing off research findings, coordinating parallel work trees, getting status updates on long-running tasks, and replying across machines.
