Anthropic launches 'Record a skill' feature for Claude Cowork, making AI automation easier
Anthropic has launched Claude Cowork, a desktop collaboration environment for its AI assistant Claude. It allows Claude to access local files, keep persistent memory, connect to other apps, and run automated workflows. Now, Claude Cowork adds a 'Record a skill' feature for Pro, Max, and Teams subscribers. This feature lets users teach AI to do repetitive computer tasks by recording their screen and voice. Users click the plus menu, select 'Record a skill,' perform the task on screen, and explain each step verbally. The system tracks screen activity, mouse moves, keystrokes, and voice. After recording, it turns the demo into a reusable structured skill. 'Agent Skill' is an open standard from Anthropic that packages business processes, instructions, and scripts into modular 'digital onboarding manuals.' Before, creating Agent Skills needed text and scripting. This new feature lowers the tech barrier, letting non-tech users build AI automation.
