Anthropic May File IPO Papers Friday, Eyeing Record Listing
According to Yahoo Finance citing insiders, AI company Anthropic may publicly submit its S-1 filing as early as this Friday, paving the way for a November listing. Its IPO is expected to top SpaceX's June debut and could become the biggest ever.
Anthropic made 16.3 billion dollars in revenue in the first half of the year, with a net loss of over 80 billion dollars. Third-quarter revenue hit 16.8 billion dollars, up from 11.5 billion in Q2, and the company turned a profit on an adjusted basis. Wall Street expects it to raise up to 100 billion dollars at a 2 trillion dollar valuation.
The company has spent billions building AI infrastructure to train its Claude models, working with Google and Amazon while renting GPU power from SpaceX data centers. Many see the listing as a key test of investor appetite for AI. Rival OpenAI now plans to go public in early 2027.
