Anthropic raises over $30 billion, valuation could beat OpenAI

Anthropic, an AI startup in the US, is about to close a huge funding round worth over $30 billion, possibly next week. The company's valuation could hit $900 billion, making it the most valuable AI startup, overtaking OpenAI.

The deal came together in just weeks, showing strong investor interest. Anthropic started talks this month after getting multiple offers in late April. With growing demand for enterprise AI, revenue is rising fast. Second-quarter revenue is expected to hit $10.9 billion, more than double the previous quarter, possibly leading to the first profitable quarter.

Anthropic told investors its annualized revenue could top $50 billion by next month. Last July, it was only $4 billion. CEO Dario Amodei said first-quarter annualized revenue and usage grew 80 times. The company is racing to get more computing power to meet AI service demand.
