Anthropic's Claude Code cloud sessions are now available
Anthropic announced that Claude Code cloud sessions are out of preview and now generally available. This feature lets users keep tasks running in the cloud after closing their computer, and view or take over from a browser, phone, desktop app, or terminal. Cloud sessions are available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users. Existing subscribers can claim a one-time credit: $100 for Pro users and $250 for Max users. The claim deadline is October 7 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time, and credits are valid until November 4 at 11:59 PM.
Cloud sessions can run on Anthropic-managed cloud infrastructure or be routed to an organization's self-hosted environment. Users can start them from claude.ai/code, the Code tab in the Claude mobile app, the Cloud option in the desktop app, or the terminal. In the terminal, users can run claude --cloud to create a new cloud session, and use claude --teleport to pull a cloud session back to the local terminal to continue working on it.
Cloud sessions support GitHub repository cloning and pull request creation, and can be connected through the Claude GitHub App or /web-setup. With auto-fix enabled, Claude can respond to CI failures and review comments, and push fixes when clear. Each cloud session runs in an isolated virtual machine. Anthropic-hosted environments restrict network access by default, and Git credentials and signing keys stay outside the sandbox.
Cloud sessions share rate limits with other Claude and Claude Code usage in the account. Repository cloning and pull request creation require GitHub. If an organization enables IP allowlisting, Anthropic-hosted cloud sessions may fail authentication.
