Anthropic seeks chip supply from SK Hynix

SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won said at an AI event in San Francisco that Anthropic has asked SK Hynix for memory chip supply for its in-house chip project. He noted it's rare for an AI company to develop its own chips.

Earlier reports said Anthropic has started early work on its own AI chips and is talking to Samsung about custom production, possibly using Samsung's 2nm process. The move aims to reduce reliance on existing chip suppliers.
