Anthropic unifies Claude's memory: Cowork and chat now share context

Anthropic has updated Claude's memory system, unifying memory across Cowork and chat. Users no longer need to repeat background info in Cowork, as Claude automatically uses what it remembers from chats, and vice versa.

Sensitive topics like health and personal beliefs are not saved by default, but users can turn this on in settings. The feature works for both free and paid users, and is available on Mac and iOS. Memory is on by default on web, desktop, and mobile, but sensitive-topic memory stays off unless manually enabled. iOS and Android users need to update their apps for the latest features.
