Anthropic upgrades Claude to control your Mac in the background

Anthropic announced on September 3 that it's upgrading the computer control features of Claude Cowork and Claude Code, allowing Claude to operate your Mac in the background. The feature requires macOS 15 or later, with the desktop awake and the Claude Desktop app open.

After the upgrade, users can let Claude handle clicking, typing, and navigation through screen interaction while they work on other tasks. For full-screen control, users can enable 'full control' mode in settings. This works with both Cowork and Code—Cowork for document handling and research, Code for development tasks.

For now, it's only available to Pro and Max personal subscribers, not Team or Enterprise plans. The Linux version is in testing and doesn't support computer control yet.
