Arm's First Chip Sale in 35 Years: Self-developed AGI CPU Launched, Meta as Top Client
Arm has broken its 35-year tradition of only licensing architecture and released its first self-developed AGI CPU chip, targeting Agent AI cloud inference scenarios. The chip uses TSMC's 3nm process, with up to 136 cores and 300W power consumption.
Meta is the top client of AGI CPU, and 8 companies including OpenAI, Cloudflare, and SAP have signed contracts.
Arm CEO René Haas predicts that this chip will bring $150 billion in annual revenue within five years, and Arm's total annual revenue will reach $250 billion by then. This move marks Arm's shift from a pure architecture licensor to a chip manufacturer, directly competing with existing clients like Nvidia and Qualcomm.
