ASML's Stock Rises Over 40% This Year Amid Surging AI Chip Demand
The rapid development of AI technology is driving a surge in global chip demand, and ASML, as the world's only supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography equipment, has become a core beneficiary. This year, its stock has risen by more than 40%, mainly due to accelerated data center construction and strong demand for advanced chips from clients like NVIDIA—who rely heavily on ASML's equipment to produce core processors.
ASML's Q1 revenue this year reached 8.767 billion euros, up 13.24% year-on-year; net profit was 2.757 billion euros, up 17.07% YoY. Recent positive news includes SK Hynix purchasing about $8 billion in equipment, and Samsung's order size ranging from $4 to $5 billion. Capital Group calls ASML a 'shovel' tool in the AI era, holding over 3% of its shares and focusing on EUV equipment shipments.
