Beijing Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon Training Camp Held; Robots to Challenge Autonomous Navigation This Year
The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center recently held a 'Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon' training camp. This year's robot sports event will adopt fully autonomous navigation. Unlike last year's fixed boundary running, Jushen Tiangong robots will now independently handle positioning, path planning and obstacle avoidance in open environments, with self-developed joints and greatly improved performance.
The camp mainly targets university师生, offering support from 'Jushen Tiangong' universal robot platform and 'Huisi Kaiwu' universal embodied intelligence platform to build an open-source ecosystem. Tang Jian said teams aim to challenge the human half-marathon record and finish within one hour.
The 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon will start on April 19, introducing 'human-robot co-running' for the first time. 12,000 human runners will compete with robots. This year adds autonomous navigation teams, with over 20 enterprise and university teams participating in tests.
