Beijing Issues First Fine for AIGC Trade Secret Theft
Beijing's Chaoyang district market regulator fined a company 100,000 yuan for stealing an AI-powered trade secret. The victim company makes translation software for short dramas. An ex-employee copied the software, cracked its database, and used it to start a rival business.
Investigators used digital forensics and log analysis to trace the theft. The fine was issued under China's anti-unfair competition law. This is Beijing's first such case, showing AI software can be protected as a trade secret.
