Beijing's Space Computing Innovation Center Opens, Focusing on Space AI Chips
The Beijing Space Computing Innovation Center was officially launched today at the Space Computing Forum of the Global Digital Economy Conference in Zhongguancun, Haidian, Beijing. The center operates under a 'company + alliance' model, led by Beijing Tiansuan Xinglian Technology.
Its four main roles include developing key technologies like space AI chips, high-performance computing payloads, and space large models; offering open testing platforms; setting industry standards; and turning space computing into real-world applications. It plans to build an integrated space-ground computing network.
In April, the first space computing industry platform, the 'Space Computing Professional Committee,' was also established in Beijing. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said it will support forward-looking research on space computing to promote the industry's growth during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
