Black Forest Labs releases FLUX 3 Image model with 4K generation and pixel-level editing

German AI company Black Forest Labs has launched FLUX 3 Image, an image generation model that supports up to 4K resolution output while keeping rich details even when zoomed in. Built on the FLUX 3 base, it focuses on high controllability and fine editing.

Users can assign each element an ID, description text, and precise bounding box on a normalized 0–1000 coordinate grid for accurate placement. The model can incorporate up to 10 reference images in a single generation and specify where objects from each reference should appear.

For editing, it can modify selected areas while keeping other pixels unchanged. The company says it maintains original content at the pixel level for precise multi-round editing. FLUX 3 Image is currently a paid service, with an open model version to be released in the coming weeks.
