Bridge Data Plans SGD 5 Billion Investment in Singapore for AI Development, Focusing on Computing Infrastructure and Crypto Integration
Bridge Data Centres (BDC) plans to invest up to SGD 5 billion (about USD 3.9 billion) in Singapore for AI technology development to accelerate its business growth in Asia. BDC CEO Eric Fan said the investment will focus on advanced power architecture, next-gen cooling systems, AI-driven operations, and energy optimization for high-density computing environments.
From the crypto industry perspective, BDC's investment essentially builds underlying capabilities for the digital economy. AI's computing needs align well with data center development, and crypto tech can complement traditional AI via decentralized computing markets. In the long run, the two may mutually enhance—facilities integrating computing resources and blockchain mechanisms could be future winners.
