ByteDance's TRAE Merges Two Tools into an All-in-One Dev Platform
ByteDance has announced that its AI dev tool TRAE is merging TraeWork and TraeCode into one new TRAE, turning it into a full-link development platform. TraeWork used to focus on office work, tasks, and content creation, while TraeCode was built for pro developers.
After the merge, the new TRAE handles these tasks through one single entrance and lets users switch smoothly between Agent mode and IDE mode. Agent mode helps go from an idea to a finished result: beginners can build a demo step by step, while pros can run multiple agents across projects at the same time. IDE mode keeps the full smart coding environment for deep code editing and fine debugging.
The new TRAE works on desktop, web, and mobile. Tasks can start on a computer, progress can be checked and new notes added on the phone, then it's back to the desk for deeper work. Chats, account data, and credits will move over automatically, no manual transfer needed. The new version is now in gradual testing and will roll out to all users in batches.
