China Adds 3 On-Device AI Services to Registry, Including Honor, Xiaomi, and StepFun

China's internet regulator, together with related departments, is moving forward with the registration of generative AI services under interim rules. Three new on-device AI services for phones have been announced.

The three services are: YOYO Claw from Shenzhen Honor Software, for Honor phones; Xiaomi miclaw from Xiaomi Technology, for Xiaomi phones; and StepFun Terminal AI from Zhiyuan Xingchen (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology, for StepFun phones.

All three were registered on September 22, 2026, from Guangdong, Beijing, and Shanghai. On-device AI means the models run locally on the phone without relying on the cloud.
