China Adds 7 On-Device AI Services for Phones, Including Apple and Huawei

China's internet authorities have announced the registration of 7 new on-device generative AI services for smartphones, covering major brands like Apple, Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung, and ZTE. This move aims to promote the regulated development and innovation of AI services.

The registered models include Apple's "Apple Intelligence," Huawei's "Xiaoyi AI Large Model," OPPO's "AndesGPT," vivo's "BlueHeart On-Device Large Model," Xiaomi's "Hyper AI," Samsung's "Galaxy AI," and ZTE's "Nubia Doubao Phone Large Model." These models run locally on the phone, providing smart services without needing an internet connection.

This registration follows the "Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services," marking a key step in regulating mobile AI applications in China and offering consumers richer on-device intelligence.
