China builds 120,000 high-quality datasets, total data exceeds 1,565 PB
China's National Data Administration says the country now has 120,000 high-quality datasets. By the end of June, total data in fields like science, manufacturing, healthcare, and education reached over 1,565 petabytes (PB), up more than 60% from the first quarter. That's about 547 times the digital resources of China's National Library, giving a big boost to AI development.
Data labeling is also speeding up. Seven pilot cities—Chengdu, Shenyang, Hefei, Changsha, Haikou, Baoding, and Datong—have labeled over 119 PB of data, with 140,000 workers. Next, the administration plans to build a better data supply system for AI, making datasets paid and creating a value loop.
