China launches reporting channel for AI misuse

To support the 'Clear and Bright: Crackdown on AI Misuse' campaign, China's internet watchdog launched a dedicated reporting channel starting June 2026. It targets public reports on AI-related issues, aiming to regulate services and protect citizens' rights.

The channel covers 14 problem areas, including failure to label AI-generated content, spreading fake or violent information. Specific issues range from unregistered AI models and data poisoning to misuse like altering classics with AI, impersonation, and harming minors.
