China's 6 Departments Issue Guidelines to Boost High-Quality E-commerce Development, Encourage AI Large Model Application

The e-commerce industry is moving toward high-quality development, and how to better serve the real economy has become a key issue. Recently, 6 departments including the Ministry of Commerce issued guidelines to point out the direction for industry development.

The guidelines support leading e-commerce enterprises to increase R&D investment and build an innovative ecosystem of 'industry-research collaboration and application transformation'. They focus on promoting 'AI + e-commerce', guiding enterprises to apply AI large model technology to optimize consumer experience, reduce operating costs, and improve circulation efficiency. At the same time, they encourage technology for good and optimize algorithm rules.

In addition, the guidelines emphasize strengthening judicial protection of technological achievements in e-commerce, reducing the burden of proof for right holders, and selecting cases of technological innovation applications to deepen the application of digital technologies.
