China’s 8 ministries push AI to boost shopping and daily life
China’s Ministry of Commerce and seven other departments just released a plan to speed up the use of AI in shopping and daily life. The document includes 17 measures across five areas, focusing on boosting sales of smart products like AI phones, computers, smart home devices, and connected cars. It also aims to improve services like elderly care, tourism, and education with AI. On the business side, the plan pushes for smarter wholesale, retail, e-commerce, and delivery systems. The government will build AI experience centers, host matchmaking events for tech and retail companies, and set up standards to protect consumers. The goal is to bring AI into more homes and create new ways for people to enjoy a smarter life.
