China's AI Large Model Call Volume Surpasses US for Two Consecutive Weeks; Top Three Global Models Are All Chinese

OpenRouter, the world's largest AI model API aggregation platform, released new data showing China's AI large model call volume reached 4.69 trillion tokens from March 9 to 15, surpassing the US for two consecutive weeks. Additionally, Chinese models took all three top positions in global call volume rankings.

JPMorgan Chase predicts China's AI inference token consumption will grow from approximately 10 quadrillion in 2025 to around 3900 quadrillion in 2030, an increase of about 370 times over five years. A token is the smallest text unit in natural language processing, including words and punctuation.
