China's eight ministries push for 'AI + consumption' growth
China's Ministry of Commerce and seven other departments have issued a plan to speed up 'AI + consumption.' They'll increase funding to help AI tech spread in daily shopping and let local areas create their own subsidy rules to push new smart gadgets. The plan focuses on launching new AI phones, computers, and smart TVs, and growing the market for wearables like AI glasses. It also supports AI robots, like humanoid ones, and pushes for smart helpers for the elderly and kids. For services, the plan mixes AI with home life, elderly care, travel, hotels, and education. Examples include smart cleaning robots, AI-powered nursing homes, AI tour guides at scenic spots, and AI teaching tools in schools.
