China's first homegrown 100,000-card AI supercluster hits full capacity in first week
At the 2026 World AI Conference (WAIC), China's first fully homegrown 100,000-card AI supercluster, Shuguang 8000 (Dengfeng), shared its latest numbers. It hit full capacity in its first week, now handling over 150,000 tasks daily, with a peak of 500,000 in one day. It supports big model training, high-throughput reasoning, and scientific computing.
Running at full capacity doesn't mean congestion. Thanks to smart scheduling and data-aware algorithms, Shuguang 8000 stays smooth even with millions of user requests, avoiding slowdowns. It uses a world-first high-density cabinet design, boosting computing density by 20 times compared to other super nodes, plus its own scaleFabric high-speed interconnect tech for stable 100,000-card connections.
Shuguang 8000 has adapted nearly 1,000 supercomputing-AI applications and is linked to the national supercomputing internet, pushing AI infrastructure from 10,000-card to 100,000-card scale. Its full load reflects growing demand for massive, high-quality computing from research and industry.
