China's first integrated hydro-solar-wind smart operation model launched in Yalong River
China's first integrated hydro-solar-wind smart operation model was officially launched in the Yalong River basin, Sichuan. Built by SDIC Group's Yalong River company, the model connects weather, water, and renewable energy forecasting with power grid decisions, acting as the smart brain for a multi-million-kilowatt clean energy base. The system combines satellite data, ground weather stations, river monitors, and sensor networks to cover all resources and timeframes. After optimization for plateau conditions, its forecasting ability has greatly improved. According to climate scientist Chen Deliang, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, traditional models could only predict river flow for about ten days, but the new model extends this to 60 days. Hourly forecast accuracy for the first 10 days improved by about 5%, and medium-term accuracy for 11 to 60 days also increased, with weather response time cut from hours to minutes.
